Kohti merta

Myrskyävä meri vaahtoaa, aallot lyövät rantaan raskaasti – ja silti kaksi kalastajaa suuntaa veneensä ulapalle. Kuvassa yhdistyvät luonnonvoima ja ihmisen sitkeys, perinne ja arki. Kohti merta on kunnianosoitus niille, jotka lähtevät, vaikka taivas painaa ja tuuli puhuu kovaa. Kuvasin kun mieheni ja hänen isä lähtivät verkoille  Ruissaaressa Virolahdella lähellä Venäjän rajaa.

The sea roars, waves crash against the shore — and yet two fishermen set out toward the horizon. This image captures both the raw force of nature and the quiet resilience of those who work with it. Toward the Sea honors the courage of those who go out, even when the wind speaks loud and the sky weighs heavy. I photographed when my husband and his father went fishing in Ruissaari Virolahti near to Russian border.
